Alexander Novak noted that contracts with Europe are long-term, pointing out that gas supply agreements remain in force until 2035-2040.

MOSCOU, 16 October /TASS/. Russia is ready to increase its energy supplies to Europe, particularly under the existing long-term contracts, said Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak at a plenary session of Russian Energy Week.

” We are ready to provide larger supply volumes (to Europe – TASS),” said Novak. “We were not the ones who refused affordable and stable energy supplies from Russia. Europe has taken this decision for political reasons. We remain ready to honour our contracts. »

The Deputy Prime Minister stressed that contracts with Europe are long-term, stating that gas supply agreements remain in force until 2035-2040.

” The unilateral refusal to supply under these contracts is a decision that is not based on the existing legal and regulatory framework,” said Novak. “This is a politically motivated decision that does not serve the interests of their own consumers. »
